These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of The Property Ledger, a bookkeeping app operated by [Company Legal Name] ("we", "us", "The Property Ledger"). Please read them.
By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use The Property Ledger.
The Property Ledger is a bookkeeping and record-keeping tool for rental property owners. It helps you organize transactions, mileage, leases, loans, and documents, and it generates summaries and reports from what you enter.
The app is currently in beta. It is provided "as is", may change or have interruptions, and features may be added or removed as we improve it.
This is important. The Property Ledger is a tool to help you organize your records. It is not tax advice, legal advice, or accounting advice.
Any figures the app produces — including Schedule E summaries, depreciation estimates, 1099 thresholds, and cap rate or similar metrics — are estimates to help you organize your records. They may be wrong or incomplete for your situation.
You must confirm everything with a qualified professional before you file anything or rely on it. We are not a CPA, a law firm, a financial advisor, or a consumer reporting agency.
You can invite other people (such as a partner, bookkeeper, or CPA) to a specific property. You control those invitations, and you are responsible for the access you grant — invitees can see that property's records, including any tenant details on it. Remove access when it is no longer needed.
Because the app is in beta, it may be unavailable, may contain errors, and may lose or corrupt data. We do not promise any particular level of uptime or that the service will be error-free. This is why keeping your own backups matters.
The Property Ledger is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will meet your needs or that its outputs are correct.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, [Company Legal Name] will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or tax penalties, arising out of your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you have paid us nothing.
You agree to cover us (defend and hold us harmless) against claims, losses, and costs that arise from the data you enter, your handling of tenant information, or your misuse of the app — in other words, if your use of the app causes a problem for someone else, that is your responsibility, not ours.
You are responsible for keeping your login secure. You can delete your account at any time from within the app under Account → delete, which removes your properties and their files (see the Privacy Policy for details). We may suspend or end access to the app if you violate these Terms or to protect the service.
The Property Ledger is currently free during beta. Paid plans (Pro) are planned. These Terms will be updated with billing terms before any charge occurs.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [State], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
We may update these Terms as the app changes. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and we will give more prominent notice if the changes are significant. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
